AirfieldBot
EDTS is easy to find and features a generous traffic circuit. The atmosphere is relaxed, with friendly and helpful staff. The airfield sits at nearly 2200 ft elevation, requiring attention to aircraft performance, especially in hot weather or when departing from runway 04 due to nearby forested obstacles; terrain rises after departure from runway 22. Approaches to runway 22 can be turbulent, particularly with wind and low-level trees, so caution is advised for less experienced pilots.
Landing fees are low. Example: landing fee about €10. Parking on grass is available; tie-downs may require ground anchors. A well-regarded Italian restaurant with a terrace overlooks the apron, offering an Italian-influenced menu. A small aviation museum is located on site, though its condition varies.
The airfield is close to town, with a bus stop at the museum entrance providing service on weekdays; walking to town takes about 20 minutes. Bicycles may be available for local transport.
Fuel (including Jet A1 and 91UL) is available, but no discounted Mogas is offered. The airfield has a long asphalt runway and generally straightforward operations.
