Herten Rheinfelden Airport (EDTR)

EDTR is a well-maintained grass airfield near the Swiss border, suitable for visits to Basel and local attractions. PPR is required; some pilots experience delayed or no response via email or phone, though this may be due to technical issues. The grass runway and taxiways are generally in good condition but can be somewhat bumpy; slow taxiing is advisable. Starts may be restricted during a midday pause. Avgas and Super-Benzin are available. A restaurant with homemade food is located on the field, and a camping site is adjacent. The airfield offers good access to the Swiss side of Rheinfelden, with walking possible but lengthy; taxis are an alternative as no rental bikes are available. Public transport from Basel (bus line 38) stops near the airfield.

Landegebühren are described as low. Example: landing fee about €10. Security concerns such as vandalism and theft have been mentioned in the past, particularly for overnight stays, though more recent reports do not confirm ongoing issues.
