Landed from EDDN to have lunch and break up the journey back to the UK. We landed on a Monday and everything nearby was shut. Ended up getting a taxi to France over the bridge for lunch in the nearby shopping mall. Expensive lunch of 30 EUR + 50 EUR taxi.
GAT is automated, so no personal contact and all via the telephone and buzzer system.

Airline traffic does not interfere with GA due to the separate GAT location on Apron 4 at the south end of the field. The GA apron lacks tie-down points and chocks; bring your own if needed. The airport is generally quiet for GA but can be busier due to airline operations; expect possible runway direction constraints during peak times. Security procedures can be strict but efficient.
Overall, EDSB offers efficient handling, good value for its category, easy customs arrangements without prior notice, and convenient ground transport options for non-commercial general aviation pilots.
