Bad Frankenhausen Airport (EDOF)

EDOF features a well-maintained grass runway with a notable slope; landings are preferred on runway 26 and departures on 08 due to the gradient. The runway and parking areas are in good condition. Approaches to 26 require attention to a small hill on the left and frequent strong crosswinds because of the airfield’s hillside location; starting on 26 involves an approximate 80 ft climb. Avgas is available, and Superbenzin is possible with PPR. A small on-field café, the "Trudelklause," offers drinks and snacks, with additional food options in the nearby village of Udersleben. No bicycles are available for hire at the airfield, but they can be rented in Bad Frankenhausen. Tie-down earth anchors are available for loan.

Landing fees are low. Example: landing fee about €10. Camping is available during flying camps for about €10 per night. The Kyffhäuser monument and other local attractions are within walking distance, with one café approximately 3.8 km (about 50 minutes on foot) through the forest.
