Arnbruck Airport (EDNB)

Arnbruck (EDNB) is a small, friendly airfield in scenic, hilly terrain near the Bavarian Forest. The approach to runway 34 is considered challenging due to surrounding terrain and requires careful circuit planning; a curved final is often necessary, and arriving too high is common if not following the valley. Runway 16 features a displaced threshold with only 425 meters available for landing, and the narrow (10 m) runway can be demanding, especially with wind or in hot conditions. The airfield is popular with glider operations, and the resident towplane may not always adhere strictly to circuit procedures; pilots should remain vigilant. PPR is required but generally uncomplicated.

Parking is available on grass between apron and runway, but the surface can be soft, uneven, and affected by molehills; parking on asphalt is preferable when possible. Tie-down weights are not provided. Avgas is available with helpful staff assistance. Example: landing fee about €10.

A small on-field restaurant offers terrace views of the airfield and Großer Arber; food quality varies, with some preferring nearby Glasdorf Weinfurtner (about 10 minutes on foot), which also offers shopping and park attractions. The town of Arnbruck is within a short walking distance (5–10 minutes), providing additional dining options.
