Wesel Roemerwardt Airport (EDLX)

EDLX is located about 15 minutes on foot from Wesel’s city center and approximately 1 km from the Auesee beach area. The airfield operates only on Saturdays and Sundays. The grass runway is around 800 meters long with displaced thresholds at both ends due to obstacles; a parking garage borders one end, and the runway can be hard to spot on approach to 26 depending on lighting. The runway surface is described as rough and bumpy, though some find it manageable. Obstacles are present in both approach sectors—buildings to the east and high trees to the west—so careful attention is required.

The airfield has a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff. A restaurant (“Tante Ju”) operates Friday to Sunday, and additional dining options are available within a 5-minute walk at the nearby marina. The area offers significant leisure value, including access to local cycling routes, a yachting marina, and various restaurants, cafés, hotels, and recreational facilities. Construction of a new swimming pool and parking facilities is underway on the south side of the field.
