PPR is generally required but easily arranged, with no significant issues reported for access. The airfield operates without a flight supervisor at times, but helpful staff are usually present. The runway is constructed of paving stones and is in good condition, though some edges may be uneven; the circuit is described as tight, especially on approach to 06 due to nearby buildings, so precise flying is necessary. Parking is available on grass in a sheltered area between hangars, and overnight stays are possible.
Avgas and mogas (95) are available, with fueling straightforward. Maintenance services are present on the field. The restaurant on site is recommended and offers views of the runway; an Italian restaurant operates at the airfield, and a Burger King is located just off the approach to Runway 06, about 4 minutes away on foot. The city center of Hamm is within 5–15 minutes’ walking distance from the airfield, and hotels are easily reached on foot.
Fees are moderate. Example: landing fee about €10; overnight parking about €10 for a single night or €70 for two nights.
The airfield is suitable for non-commercial general aviation operations up to at least 3.3 t MTOW. Glider activity occurs at the field. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
