Meinerzhagen Airport (EDKZ)

EDKZ operates PPR and offers a long paved runway of about 1200 meters. Avgas and Jet A1 are available, with fueling assistance typically provided by staff; no Mogas is available. Technical support and maintenance are present on site, with prompt repairs reported. Hangar space is available for overnight stays. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, with the airfield manager often present and handling multiple roles. A restaurant is located across the street, and cold drinks or a coffee machine are available at the airfield.

Fees are generally moderate, though some variation exists. Example: landing about €20; hangar overnight about €20; a combined landing, hangar (1 night), and 30 liters Avgas about €100. For glider operations, an example fee is about €20.

The airfield is situated in scenic surroundings with nearby reservoirs, making it attractive for leisure flights. Approaches can be affected by crosswinds and turbulence due to surrounding trees and terrain; maintaining sufficient speed on final is advised. The prescribed circuit should be followed for a smooth approach. The runway has a slight slope, and the field can be somewhat difficult to spot visually; look for a white tower near wind turbines as a landmark.

PPR is required at all times, with operations typically possible from 10:00 to 19:00 GMT or by arrangement seven days a week. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
