Civil Airfield Lauterbach (EDFT)

The airfield has a well-maintained grass runway that is generally easy to spot and approach, though some describe it as slightly bumpy. The runway features a longitudinal profile difference of about 40 ft, and walking paths or agricultural vehicles may cross the runway, so caution is needed during landing and taxi. Communication with the airfield can be challenging until close to the airport, and frequency overlap with Würzburg may cause initial confusion on approach.

PPR is required and typically arranged by phone or SMS; flexibility and friendliness are noted, but reliability of contact varies, so confirmation is advisable. Example: landing fee about €5. Parking for one night has been about €3. Facilities include basic drinks from a fridge and occasional café service with meals, coffee, and cake; availability of food service varies. Camping under the wing is possible for a donation, with access to a sanitary facility including a shower. Transport to nearby towns can sometimes be arranged on request.
