Airport Barth (EDBH) IFR

Barth (EDBH) offers straightforward VFR operations with consistently friendly, professional staff and uncomplicated arrivals and departures. IFR is currently unavailable. The paved runway and apron are in good condition, with tie-downs and hangarage generally available. Parking is stress-free, and turnaround times are efficient.

A small bistro/café operates on the field, serving a limited selection of hot meals and homemade cakes; opening hours may vary. Bicycle rental is available at €6 per day, with a 10–20 minute ride into Barth town center and an additional 5 minutes to the harbor. The town offers several restaurants and serves as a pleasant base for exploring the region. Car hire can be arranged in advance, including App2Drive vehicles on site; local company Peters (+49 38231-3315) delivers cars to the airfield. Taxis are available but can be scarce during peak season, with typical waits over an hour; a taxi to Barth takes about 10 minutes and costs around €20.

Fuel is available with prompt service. Payment for landing fees can be made via Aerops. The airfield no longer accepts landegutscheinheft vouchers. Example: landing plus two nights’ parking about €60.

Facilities include WiFi in the terminal, loaner tie-down ropes, and helpful staff offering local tips. Fallschirm operations occur but cause minimal delays. The Speicherhotel in Barth is recommended for accommodation.

Barth is well-suited for non-commercial GA pilots seeking a relaxed destination with good infrastructure, easy access to coastal attractions, and attentive ground support.
