Pirna Pratzschwitz Airport (EDAR)

PPR is required and handled smoothly via email. The airfield has a grass runway described as good and dry, with no major bumps, though some unevenness is noted. Parking space is ample, with tie-downs available; hangar space may be arranged if needed. Fuel is not available. Facilities are minimal: a club building with a drinks vending machine, an old minibus as the operations office, and no regular restaurant or café. Accommodation is possible on site or at a nearby guesthouse about 2 km away, sometimes with shuttle service by arrangement.

Ground transport options include a 30-minute walk to the S-Bahn station or taxis costing about €20 to the station and €30 to Dresden city center. The S-Bahn ride to Dresden takes around 25 minutes. Example: landing fee about €10.

The airfield is friendly and helpful, with active gliding operations (mainly winch-launched), so expect glider activity. Procedures vary; see AIP/NOTAM.
