EDAM operates as a PPR-only airfield without fuel or visitor hangar space. The airfield features a 1200 m concrete runway, with the surface and taxiways described as somewhat rough due to old concrete slabs. There is no UL (ultralight) approval; operations for ULs require special permission, and this is confirmed in the AIP. The airfield is managed by a club, and visiting pilots consistently encounter very helpful and friendly staff who assist with local arrangements such as taxis and accommodation tips.
A notable attraction nearby is the Luftfahrtmuseum, which is within walking distance (about 20 minutes) or quickly reached by rental bicycle available on site. The Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte in Halle, featuring the Nebra Sky Disk, is also a popular destination; overnight stays at Schlosshotel Schkopau are convenient, with a tram stop directly outside providing access to Halle.
There are no fuel services or on-field gastronomy. Bicycle rental is available for local transport. No visitor hangar space is offered. Landegebühren are described as low; Example: landing fee about €5. Procedures require PPR; flexibility and helpfulness vary but are generally positive when arranged in advance. The area is noise-sensitive with a northern circuit pattern; see AIP/NOTAM for details.
