Civil Airfield Genk / Zwartberg (EBZW)

PPR is required and obtained via an online form on the club’s website, with prompt approval and auto-reply. Operations are typically without an information service; pilots self-announce on the radio as the ground station is often unstaffed, especially on weekdays. After landing, register your flight at a computer in the club office or via touchscreen, and pay the landing fee at the bar or restaurant—card payment only. Example: landing fee about €15. The aerodrome features a non-standard traffic pattern and does not handle flight plan opening or closing; these must be managed with Brussels Information by phone or radio.

Fuel pumps for Jet A and Avgas are present, with payment possible by cash or card during daytime at the flying club. Parking on the main apron is free. Maintenance services are available, including Smets Aviation. The airfield has an active aeroclub and skydiving operations.

A restaurant with a large beer selection is on site. A bus to the city center stops about 200 meters from the field, providing access to local hotels such as T'Hert. Approaches may involve routing around prominent slag heaps (“mountains”), which are visible from the air and help identify runway orientation.
