EBSP is a well-maintained airfield in the Ardennes with an 800-meter hard runway, AFIS only, and no IFR approaches or departures. PPR is required and can be arranged easily via website or phone. Staff speak English, French, and German, and are helpful with flight plan opening/closing. The apron has a significant upslope; chocks are provided on arrival to secure aircraft. Crosswind landings require attention, especially due to turbulence from surrounding forests, and there is frequent parachuting activity—pilots should remain vigilant in the circuit during jumps.
Avgas (100LL) and JetA1 are available, with refueling handled by staff. Parking is by the tower or on the sloped apron; parking for smaller aircraft may be directly in front of the building. The on-field restaurant offers meals but may have limited hours; a bistro at the adjacent parachute club is an alternative. Facilities are modern and efficient.
The town of Spa is 3.5–5 km away, reachable in about 30–45 minutes on foot (downhill to town, uphill return), or by taxi for about €10–€15. UBER availability is unreliable. The Spa-Francorchamps motor racing circuit and hiking trails are nearby.
Landing fees are moderate; Example: landing fee about €20. No customs or immigration services are available at EBSP; see AIP/NOTAM for procedures if required.
The airfield is suitable for non-commercial general aviation operations under VFR, with friendly service and good infrastructure.
